Composite Filling
A composite (tooth colored) filling is used to repair a tooth that is affected by decay, cracks, fractures, etc. The decayed or affected portion of the tooth will be removed and then filled with a composite filling. They can be used on either front or back teeth and are a good choice for people who prefer that their fillings look more natural.
Composites are also used for cosmetic improvements of the smile by changing the color of the teeth or reshaping disfigured teeth becasue the color can be matched to the natural tooth. This is ocommonly known as Composite Bonding.
Amalgam Filling
Amalgam is a dental filling material used to fill cavities caused by tooth decay. It has been used for more than 150 years in hundreds of millions of patients around the world. They are also known as “silver fillings” because of their silver-like appearance. Despite the name, “silver fillings” do contain elemental mercury.
As with most dental restorations, composite or amalgam fillings are not permanent and may someday have to be replaced. They are very durable, and will last many years, giving you a long lasting, beautiful smile.
Dental Bridge
Dental Bridges literally bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth. A bridge is made up of two or more crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap. These two or more anchoring teeth are called abutment teeth with a false tooth/teeth in between. These false teeth are called pontics and can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain, or a combination of these materials to look like your natural teeth.
